# Error Divinus by Artist Ans Rallo

**Artwork Description:**

This is a dramatic, large-scale digital painting in a monochromatic, saturated red palette, depicting a close-up of an anguished angel figure. The style is a blend of classical realism and modern, stylized portraiture.

- **Subject and Pose:** The figure, presumably an angel, is a muscular, androgynous person with a pained, tormented expression. They are hunched forward, looking upward in a pose of despair or supplication. Their right arm is brought across their chest, with the hand (seen in the foreground) open and upturned in a gesture of beseeching or offering.
- **Face and Hair:** The face is contorted with deep lines of distress and sorrow on the forehead and around the eyes. The eyes are wide, looking upward, with dark, sunken sockets. The lips are slightly parted in a cry or heavy sigh. Their hair is a disheveled, curly mass, typical of classical depictions but rendered with a modern, unkempt feel.
- **Body:** Only the head, shoulders, and upper torso are visible. The musculature of the chest and shoulders is highly defined and exaggerated, rendered with deep, sculpted shadows that emphasize the strain of their posture.
- **Wings:** The background is entirely composed of the figure’s large, enveloping wings, which spread out to fill the frame. They are rendered in a darker shade of red, with a texture like heavy, folded cloth or perhaps a mass of dark, blood-stained feathers.
- **Lighting:** The primary light source is from the upper left, casting the right side of the figure’s face and body into deep shadow, which enhances the feeling of internal conflict and torment. The red tones range from a bright, fiery crimson on the illuminated side to deep, almost black, bordeaux in the shadows. The lighting is painterly and atmospheric, with a soft halo effect around the head and wings.
- **Text and Inscription:** The text is placed vertically along the right edge, aligned to the right, and is rendered in a stylized, ancient-looking, serif font that appears etched or stamped.
  - **Top word:** Below a small decorative element, the word “ERROR” is clearly legible.
  - **Middle letter:** Below “ERROR”, the large, isolated letter “D” is positioned.
  - **Lower word:** Below the “D”, the word “Divina” (or “Divine”) is written in a similar font, partially obscured by the wing texture but still discernible. The combined text effectively reads “ERROR D Divina,” possibly implying a fall from grace or a ‘divine error.‘
- **Texture and Feel:** The entire painting has a tactile, canvas-like texture, with visible, broad brushstrokes in some areas and smoother blending in the skin tones. The overall mood is one of raw, emotional pain and dark, tragic beauty.

Technique: dry pastel (chalk) on 6 mm MDF, without the use of brushes, and with gold leaf applied to the lettering.
 Dimensions: 1.40 x 1.00 m, including frame.
